The Magical Adventure of Sky & Rhill
by Katie Henderson

One sunny day in Woodwake forest when Sky and Rhill, two woodland fairies, were picking flowers in the meadow, they heard a sound which made them feel scared. So they went home and while they had tea they asked their parents about the strange noise, but they didn’t know what it could be.  They decided to ask their friend Oakleigh the acorn fairy.  Oakleigh said “What did it sound like?”  Sky said “It sounded like this - ow, ow, ow, ooowwwwwww”.  “Come with me.” said Oakleigh, “OK” said Sky and Rhill.     Oakleigh took them to see a rabbit called Doctor Nut, as she thought her friends might be going mad, but they were fine. Next they went and found their human friend Katie. She said that she had heard it too, and felt sure it was the Black Dog Werewolf.  So Katie said, “Tonight at the old tree stump we will have a meeting with all your Enchanted fairy friends, and set a trap for the Black Dog Werewolf to get rid of him”.  When darkness fell, and the room was pitch black, Katie hopped out of bed and crept down stairs, put her coat on, her woolly hat,  warm gloves and her fluffy scarf  and  jumped  into  her go-cart  and  started  it  up.  When  she  arrived at the  old  tree  stump,  sparkles  and  sparkles  of   fairy  folk  were  there already.  There, right in the centre of the fairies, was Sky and Rhill.  Katie went over to Sky and Rhill and she said, “We really need the help of Wise Old Willow Wizard. I think he has got even more magnificent, magic powers that can help us get rid of the Black Dog Werewolf.”  Sky got out her fairy mobile, and gave the Wizard a call. He said you need some strong rope, and tie a loop in the bottom, make sure the rope is extra long. You will need some leaves to put on the loop to camouflage the trap. He would also bring some moon dust to sprinkle on the Werewolf which would turn him into a moth.  Sky thanked the Wizard for his help. Katie said, “So fairies, let’s get to work!” Katie asked Rhill if she could magic up her dog to help. Katie’s dog is a Border collie called Skizy, and is a ‘bloomin minx’, but Katie thought she would be useful to lead the Black Dog Werewolf into the trap.  “Line up fairy folk.” said Katie, “Everyone between Oakleigh and Pip – you have to collect the leaves. Catkin and Bella will be stripping some ivy down from the trees. Sky and Rhill, you can help me carry the rope – I happen to have some in my go-cart. Skizy will come with me”. said Katie. So all the fairies collected what Katie had asked for.  When everything had been gathered, Katie cleverly put the trap together. She twisted the ivy around the rope, until you could not see the rope at all. Oakleigh and Pip scattered the leaves on, so the loop could hardly be seen. Katie left a bit of rope hanging from a branch, because she would need that later. They all climbed the tree and chose their hiding places carefully.  Suddenly, in a growling, cloud of dust, came the horrible Werewolf. He was 10 feet tall, hairy and black and had blood on his fangs.  Katie whispered “Go Skizy, go”.  The Black Dog Werewolf turned and started running after the little collie. The blood thirsty Werewolf was charging with all his might to get that collie. Amazingly Skizy leaped over the trap and the Werewolf got his foot in the centre of the loop in the rope.  Katie shouted “Pull!”  Within 5 seconds he was upside down, hanging his head in shame, with his arms crossed looking not so clever any more.  In a bang of smoke, Willow Wizard appeared and sprinkled the whole bag of moon dust all over the embarrassed Werewolf. The Black Dog Werewolf started to sneeze, and at the last sneeze – poooofff he was a black moth.  The moth said “Oh drat!” and left flying up to the light of the moon and was never seen again. “Thank you Katie,” said the fairies in their soft voices “that was a great adventure!” Katie turned to the Willow Wizard and said “We couldn’t of done it without your help.” As it was nearly dawn, and well past Katie’s bedtime, she said her goodbyes and went joyfully back home. She snuggled up in bed and fell fast asleep.  She had a great dream!
